You can apply data sorting to the bands within the report to help organize the report for better readability.
the below report displays as follows :
By default the data is sorted by entry. The first entry in the data will be the first entry in the report as there is no sorting applied.
Lets sort this report by customer, start by selecting the Detail Band and clicking it's Smart Tag. Click in the 'Sort Fields' field to open the 'Group Field Collection Editor'.
Click 'Add' to add a 'GroupField'.
Under 'Field Name', select and expand 'Customer' and then select 'Name'. This is to say we will sort by the Document's Customer's Name.
You can then select 'Ascending' or 'Descending' to set the 'Sort Order'.
The report now displays as follows :
